Taking Back for Granted

ouch

I somehow sprained my upper back - from the neck to the shoulder blades. It aches - even when I'm not moving.

A simple task of turning my head to look left brings pain. Inserting the thumbdrive into the CPU becomes a chore.

It started me thinking that I've been taking things for granted. Honestly, I don't feel grateful when I could bang my head pain free or get up from bed with ease.

Up till now.

This past week, I've been feeling a bit down. It's LSED. Low Self Esteem disease. It's caused by LSEV (Low self esteem virus). Once you contracted it, there's no cure. Under the right conditions, it springs up, latches on to your self esteem and brings it way down.

Could gratefulness be the cure?

My theory is that LSEV is a virus that craves for your attention. The more attention it gets, the fatter it becomes, hence heavier and drags your self esteem down with it's weight.

Being grateful would divert your attention from the LSEV... theoratically. Being grateful makes you thankful. And you need to thank someone. In my case, it would be God 'cos I believe He is Omnipotent and He's my creator.

Well, let's see if gratefulness is the answer. I have a new week ahead of me to test this theory out.
